Certifiably friendly. Professionally fun. Matthew Thomas Scott is an actor, teaching artist, and headshot photographer based in New York City. He grew up in East China, Michigan (yes, it’s a real place!) and got his B.A. in theater from Columbia College Chicago where he studied under Sheldon Patinkin; co-founder of The Second City. Matthew is also a proud graduate of the MFA program at The New School for Drama where he trained with industry professionals Ron Leibman, Kathleen Chalfant, Cotter Smith, Peter Jay Fernandez, Kathryn Rossetter, and Scott Whitehurst.

As a teaching artist, Matthew was the lead teaching artist with Adventure Stage Chicago’s mentorship program, Trailblazer’s-- an ensemble of young people and professional teaching artists that use devised theater as a way to prepare the young people of the program for a larger role in the world. He's also taught with American Theater Company, Actor’s Training Center, Center for Community Arts Partnership, and Rowe Elementary.
